Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has announced the reserve day for the upcoming India vs Pakistan game in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup 2023. The game between two arch-rivals is slated to take place on September (10th) in Colombo.

Persistent rains in Sri Lanka have put Asia Cup 2023 under scanner. The league-stage game between India and Pakistan was washed out due to rain. Then the game between India and Nepal was also curtailed due to the rain and with the consistent threat of weather over other games, chances are very less that of having full games.

With India vs Pakistan being a big-ticket game, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has made sure that there’s a reverse day for the biggest clash. If rain suspends play on 10th September then the match will continue on September 11th from the point it was suspended.

The first game between India and Pakistan was washed out due to rain. The game only saw the first innings taking place but after that second innings didn’t take place due to heavy rainfall. The forecast for the upcoming game shows 90% perception.

IND vs PAK: Sri Lanka’s MET Department’s Director-general Provides Weather Update Ahead Of India vs Pakistan Clash

Sri Lanka Meteorological Department director-general Athula Karunanayake provided a positive weather update ahead of the Asia Cup 2023 Super Four clash between India and Pakistan. He said that the chances of rain after 9th September are very low and conditions will be good for cricket. He added that on 10th September, it’ll be most sunny with very less amount of rain. Speaking to PTI, he elaborated:

“During this time of the year, which is the end of the southwest monsoon period, the southwestern part of Sri Lanka receives more rainfall. In the last two weeks, we witnessed more rain in the western province. The western province could receive a bit of rain, but after September 9, it would be sunny and cloudy but with very little rain.”

ACC recently proposed shifting of venues to Hambantota but few teams weren’t keen to play at that venue.
