IND vs PAK: "Always Brought The Best Out Of Me" - Virat Kohli Reveals His Love For ODIs Ahead Of Asia Cup 2023

India National Cricket Team batting maestro Virat Kohli has revealed his love for the One Day International (ODI) format ahead of the Asia Cup 2023 and the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

At the age of 34, Kohli has established himself as one of the greatest batters in the history of cricket. He has dominated across all three formats of the game and has got outstanding numbers.

Speaking to Star Sports, Kohli opened up on his love for ODIs, saying that the 50-over format tests players’ game completely.

“I love playing ODI cricket. I think for me, ODI cricket is probably the one format that tests your game completely.”

Virat Kohli has scored 12898 runs in ODIs at an amazing average of 57.32. He has hit 46 tons and 65 half-centuries in the format. Also, the modern-day batting great is the fifth-highest run-getter in ODIs.

Virat Kohli reckons that the ODI cricket has brought the best out of him because he likes to embrace the challenge. He said:

“Your technique, composure, patience, playing the situation, and playing differently in different phases of the game. So, I think it tests you as a batsman completely, and I feel the ODI cricket has always brought the best out of me because I like to embrace that challenge and play according to the situation to help my team win.”

Virat Kohli added that he really enjoys playing 50-over cricket because it tests all the aspects of his batting and helps him improve.

“I have always tried to do that, so yeah, as I said, it gives me an opportunity to test myself regularly, all aspects of my batting, and that’s why I really enjoy playing ODI cricket,” said Kohli.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli will be next seen in action during the Asia Cup 2023 in Sri Lanka. India will play their first match of the upcoming Asia Cup against arch-rivals Pakistan on September 2 in Pallekele.
