United States of America (USA) fast bowler Rusty Theron made shocking allegations against Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf following the 11th match of the T20 World Cup 2024. Rusty Theron accused Haris Rauf of ball tampering during the match between Pakistan and the United States of America in the ICC tournament.

The USA cricket team registered a historic victory against Pakistan at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on Thursday, June 6. The home team played against Pakistan for the first time in international cricket. The United States, making their World Cup debut, defeated the Babar Azam-led team in a thrilling Super Over.

The Men in Green failed to open their account in the Group A points table after their opening match in the tournament. The former World Cup champions will be hoping to bounce back when they face their archrivals, India, in their next match at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Sunday.

Haris Rauf Running His Thumb Nail Over The Ball - Rusty Theron

Rusty Theron stated that the Men in Green might have tampered with the ball during the match to gain an advantage. Theron alleged ball tampering, which was evident from Haris Raoof's actions with the ball.

"@icc are we just going to pretend Pakistan aren't scratching the hell out of this freshly changed ball? Reversing the ball that's just been changed 2 overs ago? You can literally see Harris Rauf running his thumbnail over the ball at the top of his mark. @usacricket #PakvsUSA," Theron wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Theron represented South Africa at the international level before playing for the USA. The 38-year-old played four ODIs and nine T20Is in his international career for South Africa between 2010 and 2012. The right-arm pacer has played a total of 18 ODIs and as many T20Is, taking 55 wickets across both formats.

Haris Rauf Fails To Defend 14 Runs Off Final Over

Earlier, Pakistan managed to score 159 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. The Babar Azam-led team scored just 30 runs inside the powerplay and lost three wickets. Mohammad Rizwan (9), Usman Khan (3), and Fakhar Zaman (11) failed to contribute with the bat in Pakistan's World Cup 2024 opener.

Babar Azam struggled throughout his knock and scored 44 runs off 43 balls, including three fours and two sixes. Shadab Khan (40 off 25), Shaheen Afridi (23 off 16), and Iftikhar Ahmed (18 off 14) helped the team reach a decent total. Nosthush Kenjige took three wickets, while Saurabh Netravalkar secured two.

In response, Monank Patel scored a half-century to put the USA in a comfortable position. However, Pakistan fought back in the latter half of the innings. Haris Rauf came to defend 14 runs off the final over. Aaron Jones struck a six off the fourth ball, while Nitish Kumar managed to hit a crucial boundary to level the scores.
