Former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batter AB de Villiers spoke about the influence he had on Virat Kohli during his days in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The South African batting great also believes that Kohlii has found the right balance and he’s eager to see him in the ICC World Cup 2023.
Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers share a great camaraderie between them. It’s fair to say that the former South African cricketer has played a great role in developing the Indian player as the batter he is today. The Proteas great played with Kohli a lot in the IPL.
Virat Kohli during his young days was quite aggressive. He didn’t shy away from giving it to the opposition harshly as well as to the crowds. But now he has turned very calm and isn’t the same as he used to be during his early days.
AB de Villiers feels that just like everyone else Virat Kohli has matured with age and the reason behind that has been his ability to pick things from people around him. He added that Mark Boucher had a great influence on Indian batter. Speaking in a video posted on his YouTube channel, he explained:
“I think everyone matures with age. As you grow, you learn a lot from experienced players and you realize that they’re not just your opponents but calm and relaxed individuals. Virat is smart and he has picked things from some coaches as well as teammates.
“Mark Boucher had a crucial role to play at RCB when Virat was young and hopefully, I too had a good influence on him as a friend. He has found that right balance and I can’t wait to see him in the World Cup doing special things for Team India.”
Tilak and Brevis get along really well and they are two talented players – AB de Villiers
AB de Villiers also talked about the bond between Tilak Varma and Dewald Brevis, saying that they need to pick the brains the right way. He explained:
“Tilak and Brevis get along really well and they are two talented players who are going to have huge careers in the future, if they look after their bodies, form and mind. They need to pick the brains the right way. You shouldn’t listen to everything. Just the right things at the right time.”
Tilak Varma and Dewald Brevis share great camaraderie between them as they often have been seen hanging out with each other during the Indian Premier League (IPL). Even after the league, they share pictures with each other.
