Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant opened up about the Men in Blue's loss against Australia in the summit clash of the ODI World Cup at home last year. Rishabh Pant highlighted that his presence could have changed the outcome of the match with his aggressive batting approach in the final game in Ahmedabad.

Rishabh Pant survived a life-threatening car crash in December 2022. The young batter made a remarkable comeback in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. The left-handed batter was the leading run-getter for the Delhi Capitals (DC) team. Rishabh earned a call-up from the selectors for the 2024 T20 World Cup.

The 26-year-old batter showcased impressive batting performances against Bangladesh in the warm-up match, despite playing for Team India after an 18-month hiatus. Rishabh continued his form against Ireland in India's first match in the World Cup. He scored 36 runs off 26 balls while chasing a 97-run target in New York.

We Would Have Scored Over 300 Runs - Rishabh Pant

During an appearance on India TV's Aap Ki Adalat show, Rishabh Pant said that the Indian cricket team could have either scored between 150 to 200 runs or over 300 runs had he played in the 2023 Cricket World Cup Final.

"If I had played the 2023 Cricket World Cup Final then, we would have either been all out for 150 or 200 runs or would have scored over 300+ runs," Rishabh Pant told Rajat Sharma.

The Indian team got off to a flying start in the powerplay during the ODI World Cup final against Australia on November 19. Skipper Rohit Sharma scored 47 runs off 31 balls before being dismissed by Glenn Maxwell in the final over. The team scored 80 runs in the first 10 overs but ended the innings with 240 runs in 50 overs.

Virat Kohli scored 54 runs off 63 balls with the help of four boundaries. Shreyas Iyer (4), Ravindra Jadeja (9 off 22), and Suryakumar Yadav (18 off 22) failed to make an impact in the middle overs. KL Rahul failed to accelerate after getting a start. He scored 66 runs off 107 before being dismissed by left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc.

Hamaari Poori Koshish Hogi - Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant said that India will beat Pakistan in the upcoming T20 World Cup match at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Sunday, June 9. Rishabh emphasized the special impact of immense support from fans.

"Hamaari Poori Koshish Hogi, Poori Pitai Karney Ki. When we get huge support from our country, Toh Woh Cheez Special Ban Jaati Hai. I think, this is going to be a very interesting match, Hamare Ko Toh Jeetna Hi Hai," Pant said.

"I can only say this as a player, they (Pakistani cricketers) also toil hard for their country and it becomes interesting when emotions come together from country India and from country Pakistan. As you said, fans also set a narrative like a slogan 'Tel Lagao Dabur Ka, Wicket Girao Babar Ka', all these things make the match quite interesting," he added.
