IND Vs PAK: Rohit Sharma And Virat Kohli In Race To Break Sachin Tendulkar's Elite Feat During Asia Cup 2023

Asia Cup 2023 is all set to kick off from Wednesday (August 30th) and in the inaugural match Babar Azam-led Pakistan will take on Nepal at Multan International Stadium. The tournament will go on till September 17th. Currently, Rohit Sharma’s Men in Blues are in Alur to complete their 6-day training camp before the Asia Cup 2023.

Six teams will be taking part in the tournament, and they have been divided into two groups. Group A has India, Nepal, and Pakistan. While, Group B has Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. The group stage matches will go on till September 5th, after that six Super-Four matches will be matches will be played to decide the
two finalists.

The Asia Cup 2023 is going to be special for the Indian cricket team since both star batsman Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be looking forward to overtaking Sachin Tendulkar’s elite feat in the tournament.

Former India cricket player and legend, Sachin Tendulkar holds the third position for scoring the most runs in the Asia Cup. Tendulkar scored 971 runs in his Asia Cup career.

India opener, Rohit Sharma scored 745 runs in his Asia Cup stint with 613 runs and holds the fifth place in the list. On the other hand, Virat Kohli is at the 12th place on the list after scoring 613 runs.

In the upcoming days, Rohit Sharma needs 226 runs meanwhile Virat Kohli needs 358 runs to surpass Sachin Tendulkar’s 971 runs haul in the Asia Cup.

I have not changed as a person in the last 16 years: Rohit Sharma

While speaking to PTI, the 36-year-old Indian skipper said that one person cannot change in one night and added that he has not changed as a person in the last 16 years.

“A person can’t change overnight with his success or failures. I don’t think one result or one championship can change me as a person. I have not changed as a person in the last 16 years and I don’t think anything needs to change on that front,” Rohit Sharma said.

Rohit Sharma reckoned that his focus will now be to achieve goals in the next two months for the squad and himself.

“The focus will be on how I can achieve my goals in the next two months, for me and my team. A person can’t change in a period of one or two months,” Rohit Sharma added.

India will start their Asia Cup 2023 voyage on Saturday (September 2nd) against Pakistan at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Sri Lanka.
