IND vs PAK: Sanju Samson Can Be Replacement For KL Rahul- Saba Karim

Former Indian cricketer Saba Karim feels that Sanju Samson can be a possible replacement for KL Rahul if the latter faces an injury during the Asia Cup 2023. Saba Karim feels that after his good batting show in the IND vs IRE T20I series, Sanju Samson remains in the reckoning to be part of the Indian team.

Sanju Samson, who played a lot of ODI games for India during the last two years, is not part of the core India squad for Asia Cup 2023. Samson has been named as a reserve player for India in Asia Cup 2023. He will replace KL Rahul in the squad if he is ruled out due to a niggle.

Sanju Samson Can Come In As A Replacement For KL Rahul: Saba Karim

While speaking on Jio Cinema, active commentator Saba Karim said that Sanju Samson is a probable player to replace KL Rahul in India’s squad. He also added that Samson’s good batting show in IND vs IRE 2nd T20I was a huge positive for Team India.

“But on top of that, even Sanju Samson, for that matter. Samson remains in the reckoning. In case KL Rahul is not fit, then who do the selectors look at? So Samson comes in as a replacement for KL Rahul. So that is why those 40 valuable runs in the 2nd T20I outing at number four was a huge positive for India,” the 55-year-old said.

Samson smacked 40 runs off 26 balls in IND vs IRE 2nd T20I. It was the only game that he got an opportunity to bat. India defeated Ireland 2-0 in the T20I series, with the 3rd T20I being washed out due to rain.

Good To See Prasidh Krishna Back: Saba Karim

Speaking about Prasidh Krishna, Saba Karim said that it was good to see him back to the team. However, he also added that Krishna’s performance was better in last year’s tour of Ireland.

“Plus Prasidh Krishna, as we have always talked about, good to see him come back. I think this season, this series performance compared to last year when India Tour Ireland was much better,” said Karim.

Prasidh Krishna picked 4 wickets in 2 games at an average of 15.25. He is also part of the India squad in Asia Cup 2023. India will face Pakistan in their first match of Asia Cup 2023 on September 2.
