India and Pakistan will face each other in the gold medal match at the 2026 Asian Games after both teams secured convincing victories in their respective semifinals. The final will be played on October 3 at the Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin, Japan.
India entered the final after beating Sri Lanka by 124 runs, while Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by six wickets in a rain-affected semifinal.

India produced a dominant performance against Sri Lanka in the second semifinal. Batting first, Shreyas Iyer's side posted 169/7 in 20 overs, with Ishan Kishan leading the scoring with an unbeaten 80 off 46 balls. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi also contributed 38 runs from 21 deliveries.
India's bowlers then bowled Sri Lanka out for just 45 in 9.5 overs. Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi and Abhishek Sharma shared the wickets as India completed a 124-run victory.
Pakistan's semifinal against Bangladesh was reduced to 13 overs per side because of the wet outfield. Bangladesh scored 111/7, with Towhid Hridoy making 42 off 25 balls.
Pakistan chased the target in 11.3 overs, reaching 112/4 to win by six wickets with nine balls remaining. Hasan Nawaz scored an unbeaten 27, while Abdul Samad finished on 30 not out from 15 balls.

India and Pakistan have faced each other 17 times in T20Is. India have won 13 matches, Pakistan have won three, while one match ended in a tie before India won the bowl-out in the 2007 T20 World Cup.
India also won all three meetings against Pakistan during the 2025 Asia Cup. They won the group-stage encounter by seven wickets, the Super Four clash by six wickets and the final by five wickets.
India's latest T20I victory came in the 2026 T20 World Cup, when they defeated Pakistan by 61 runs in Colombo.
