India skipper Rohit Sharma talked about the challenges of playing against Pakistan ahead of the game between the two teams in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. He said that it requires a lot from their end to beat the Men in Green.

India vs Pakistan no doubt is the mother of all the clashes in cricket. When the two teams play against each other, it’s fair to say that all the attention is towards that match, which speaks about the importance of the game.

Both India and Pakistan over the years have engaged in high-intensity battles and tempers are always high when the two arch-rivals play. There’s a different kind of buzz as not only players but supporters too are involved so much in the game.

India and Pakistan will be up against each other yet again. The two arch-rivals will be facing each other in the T20 World Cup 2024. The match between the two teams will take place on Sunday (9th June) at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

Ahead of the game against Pakistan, India skipper Rohit Sharma talked about the importance of the game. He said that although it’s a challenging game they need to take Pakistan as just another opposition. Speaking to StarSports, he explained:

“When you play Pakistan, it's always challenging. But for us, like I've been saying, for us, we just need to think about it. It's another opposition that we want to beat and play well against. And to beat them, to play well against them, there is a whole lot that we have to do.”

Virat Kohli also talked about the game between India and Pakistan, claiming that it’s a different kind of atmosphere and emotion. He also talked about the buzz ahead of the game and added that he is fortunate enough to experience these moments.

Virat Kohli further added that the build-up to the game against Pakistan is exciting and also revealed the kind of energy he feels when he steps on the field during the match against arch-rivals. He added:

“World Cup has a different atmosphere. I don't know what it is. World Cup is a different emotion, it's a different feeling. And you can sense that build-up. You know, there's that nervousness in the air. There's anticipation that everyone's buzzing. Like, let's go, it's starting today. I love those moments. Actually, those moments are part of the whole experience.

"That's why you play. Experiencing these moments is a very fortunate thing. The atmosphere outside the stadium. All these things are not quite noticed or spoken about. But the lead-up to games like this is what makes it so special. Just the buzz in the hotel. The moment I stepped onto the field, I felt that energy in the stadium. And everyone was just waiting for that game to start. And, you know, you can feel that palpable energy in the air,” he concluded.
