IND vs PAK: Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma Among The India Players To Pass Yo-Yo Test Ahead Of Asia Cup 2023 - Reports

India Cricket Team players are currently undergoing a camp at NCA in Bengaluru to prepare themselves for the Asia Cup 2023. A few members of the team have joined the camp and underwent the Yo-Yo Test on Wednesday (23rd August) as per the reports in PTI.

The Yo-Yo Test is part of the six-day conditioning and skill-set enhancement camp of India ahead of the Asia Cup 2023. Among the players, who went running the test, Virat Kohli was the ace performer as he finished the with a score of 17.2. The BCCI-mandated fitness parameter is 16.5.

Virat Kohli himself also confirmed his score as he posted the development on his social media account. The reports in PTI suggested that other players including skipper Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya also underwent the Yo-Yo Test and passed it with flying colours.

A source close to PTI confirmed the development and said: “The tests were successful and the reports will be sent to the BCCI soon.”

It is also learned that the India team took part in indoor drills on Thursday (24th August) apart from the Yo-Yo test. The reports also suggested that they will be engaging in outdoor activities from Friday (25th August). The outdoor sessions will also include match simulation sessions which will be monitored by batting coach Vikram Rathour and head coach Rahul Dravid.

Apart from the outdoor and indoor sessions, BCCI will also monitor several parameters of players including a lipid profile, blood sugar (fasting and PP), uric acid, calcium, Vitamin B12 and D, creatinine, testosterone and Dexa tests etc.

IND vs PAK: India Players Of Ireland Tour To Join Camp At NCA On Friday

Few of the players from India have not joined the camp as they were part of the T20I series against Ireland. Four players in Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, Sanju Samson, and Tilak Varma will be joining the rest of the team at NCA on Friday (25th August).

The reports have suggested that these players will not undergo the Yo-Yo test as they will be put through the skill-set segment of the camp. Two out of these four players in Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna spent a lot of time at NCA before the Ireland series. They were out of action for a while due to injury.
