Reetinder Sodhi, a former Indian cricketer, believes the Men in Blue will enter their match against Pakistan on Sunday as favourites. The 41-year-old asserted that Team India had more match-winning players than their bitter rivals Pakistan and more experience overall.
On September 4, India and Pakistan will square off yet again in the Super4 round of the Asia Cup 2022.
The Men in Blue may have a mental edge because they defeated Pakistan last week. Sodhi also drew attention to Pakistan’s excessive reliance on captain Babar Azam for huge scores, which Bhuvneshwar Kumar took advantage of last Sunday.
India defeated their arch-rivals by five wickets in a nail-biting final over of the first game between these teams, which was played on August 28 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
In the second match of the league stage, India defeated Hong Kong, becoming the first team from Group A to advance to the Super4 level. On the other side, Pakistan defeated Hong Kong by 155 runs in their second game to go to the Super4 round.
We definitely have more experience: Reetinder Sodhi
Reetinder Sodhi outlined to India News Sports why the Men in Blue will have an advantage over Pakistan. He stated:
“We have more ability and more guys to rely on; Pakistan is heavily reliant on Babar Azam, and you saw how their batting got stopped when Babar was removed in the last game,” Reetinder Sodhi said.
“Virat Kohli’s comeback to form changes the complexion of our batting line-up; Hardik’s form with both bat and ball has modified our team balance, and Pakistan will be required to pull up their socks because they will recognize their lack of experience” Reetinder Sodhi Added.
India qualified for the Super 4 stage by defeating Pakistan and Hong Kong and will play Pakistan once more on Sunday.
