IND Vs SA: Abdul Razzaq Reveals Virat Kohli's Reason For Success, Makes A Comical Statement
Pakistan’s performance in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 has been erratic, drawing considerable criticism from across the border. Former players and media experts have not spared the Pakistani team, chastising them for their lackluster display in the tournament and also praising the likes of Virat Kohli and Indian players.
Conversely, the Indian team’s showing in the World Cup has garnered praise from both experts and former Pakistani players, with the majority of them commending India’s flawless record of seven victories in seven matches, securing their place in the semifinals. Notably, stalwarts like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah have shone, playing pivotal roles in their remarkable journey. Pakistani media and most pundits have conceded the superior quality of the Indian side.
India’s latest triumph against Sri Lanka was a resounding one, as they overwhelmed their opponents with a massive margin of 302 runs. The Indian bowlers dismantled the Sri Lankan batting order, limiting them to a mere 55 runs.
Despite a challenging pitch, the Indian batsmen excelled, amassing 357 runs while batting first. Shubman Gill contributed 92 runs, while Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer also notched up scores exceeding 80 runs.
Abdul Razzaq Praises Virat Kohli’s Fitness
When asked about the secret behind Kohli’s success, former Pakistani player Abdul Razzaq playfully credited Anushka Sharma for his achievements. “Unki wife hain, Virat Kohli ke success ke peeche unki wife hain (His wife is there, behind Kohli’s success, his wife has a role),” Razzaq said humorously. Nevertheless, he didn’t hold back when praising Virat Kohli, hailing him as the greatest player of the era.
Razzaq elaborated on Kohli’s greatness by emphasizing the incredible effort he puts into his game, highlighting his unmatched fitness and exceptional running between the wickets, where he excels at converting twos into threes. “Why is Virat Kohli the greatest? Let me elaborate on that a bit. Everybody asks how Kohli became such a world-class player, but the work he puts on, none of our Pakistani players does even 10 per cent of that,” Razzaq said on a TV show. “Check his fitness, the way he runs is quite unbelievable. He knows how to convert twos into threes,” Razzaq added.
Another panellist, Mohammad Amir, suggested that if Kohli had played against weaker teams like Ireland, Netherlands, Afghanistan, and others, he would have already surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s record of ODI centuries. As of now, Kohli boasts 48 ODI centuries, just one short of Tendulkar’s impressive tally. India is gearing up to face South Africa on Sunday at the historic Eden Gardens. Virat Kohli will celebrate his 35th birthday on the same day, and the fans will be hoping that he equals Sachin Tendulkar’s record on the same day.
