IND vs SA: Shubman Gill Reveals His 2023 Bucket List Through An Instagram Post

The 2023 has been an absolute dream for young Indian cricket team opener Shubman Gill. Gill has turned out to be the leading run scorer in the year 2023 and has scored 2154 runs from 48 matches at a strike rate of 101.22. Gill is currently part of the Indian cricket team on the South Africa tour and scored 2 and 26 runs in the first Test of the two-match Test series.
As the year is about to end, Shubman Gill shared a glimpse of the resolutions that he took to fulfill in the year 2023. Gill shared an Instagram post and revealed that he wanted to score the most hundreds in the year 2023, win the World Cup, make his family happy, and also win the IPL orange cap.
Shubman Gill has achieved most of his resolutions as he won the IPL 2023 orange cap and scored 890 runs from 16 matches while playing for Gujarat Titans. Gill played in the ODI World Cup for India and went to the final of the tournament, but unfortunately, India were unable to the trophy. Gill’s family is very proud of the milestones that he has achieved this year. However, Gill (7) just fell short of scoring most tons in 2023 and fell just one ton behind Virat Kohli (8).
Shubman Gill reveals his 2023 resolutions
Shubman Gill wrote in his Instagram post, “Exactly a year ago, I put it out into the universe. With 2023 coming to an end, the year has been full of experiences, some great fun and other great learnings. The end of the year didn’t go as planned, but I can proudly say we came ever so close to our goals, giving everything we had. The coming year brings its own challenges and opportunities. Hopefully, we’ll get closer to our goals in 2024. I hope all of you find love, joy, and strength in everything you do.”

With the year 2024 approaching, Shubman Gill will want to start the year with a century when he plays down South Africa in Cape Town in the second Test of the series. Gill was not able to perform well in the first match and scored just 28 runs.
Shubman Gill will also be leading the Gujarat Titans in the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League and he will have the task of maintaining GT’s high-performance standard in the IPL. This will also be the first time that Gill will be doing captaincy in his whole cricketing career. Gill was the vice-captain of India in the 2018 U19 World Cup.
Shubman Gill will once again have the responsibility of taking India to their second T20 World Cup when India will participate in the 2024 edition of the tournament. The Indian team have not won any ICC tournament in the past 10 years and won the last ICC title in the year 2013.
Shubman Gill didn’t perform well during the 2023 ODI World Cup and scored only 354 runs from nine matches at an average of 44.25. His highest score was 92 runs.
Shubman Gill has not been able to prove himself in the red ball format and will aim to do the same in the year 2024.
