Former India allrounder Sanjay Bangar has said that in-form South Africa batsmen will find it difficult to handle India’s bowling attack in the upcoming World Cup clash. Table-toppers India and South Africa will lock horns against each other in a mouthwatering clash at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday (November 5).

South Africa’s batters have arguably been the most dominant in the World Cup so far, while India’s bowlers easily claim that position in the bowling department. Batting first, South Africa have posted totals such as 428, 311, 399, 382, and 357 so far. On the other hand, no team has managed to touch the 300-run mark against India so far. In the last two outings, India bowled out England and Sri Lanka for a modest total of 129 and 55 runs respectively.

With South Africa’s batters and India’s bowlers in stunning form at the moment, the upcoming game promises to be an exhilarating one. And while only time will tell how things unfold, Sanjay Bangar believes India’s bowlers could have the upper hand in the contest.

“The South African batters will have trouble facing Indian bowlers. If you try to get past Bumrah, Siraj will get you. If you get past Shami, then Kuldeep will get you. So that’s the kind of bowling attack that India has at the moment,” Sanjay Bangar told Star Sports.

“And if I have to compare both those bowling line ups, South Africa, maybe the fourth bowler or the fifth bowler is slightly a weak link, I would say and that’s where Indian batters will certainly have it slightly easier when they’re facing South African bowlers,” he added.

Meanwhile, India have already booked their place in the semifinals by winning their first seven games in the competition. They became the first team to enter the semifinals after thrashing Sri Lanka by 302 runs. South Africa, on the other hand, is currently at the second spot in the points table and a win over India will seal a semifinal spot for them too.
