India beat South Africa by 16 runs in the second T20 match played in Guwahati to take a 2-0 lead in the series. The Indian cricket team scored 237 runs in 20 overs for the loss of three wickets in the second T20 match of the series against South Africa at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday, October 2. This is the Indian team’s fourth-highest score in an international T20 innings.

Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav played a vital role in leading the Indian team to victory. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul gave a quick start for the Indian team, who put on a partnership of 96 runs for the first wicket.

Suryakumar Yadav completed 1000 runs in 31 innings and became the third fastest Indian player to complete 1000 runs. Kohli scored 27 and KL Rahul completed 1000 runs in 29 innings.

Suryakumar scored an 18-ball half-century and became the Indian batsman to score the second fastest half-century in T20 Internationals. He played attacking innings of 61 runs off 22 balls, including 5 fours and 5 sixes.

Virat Kohli And Suryakumar Achieved The Fastest 100-plus Run Stand For India

Virat Kohli and Suryakumar achieved the fastest 100-plus run stand (run rate wise) for India in the shortest format of the game. The two batsmen scored at an impressive run rate of 14.57 and put on a 42-ball 102-run partnership in the second T20I between India and South Africa.

They surpassed Dhoni and Rahul, who had added 107 runs in 49 balls (13.10 run rate) against the West Indies in 2016. Opener Rahul and skipper Rohit Sharma smashed 165 off 76 balls (13.02 run rate), India’s third fastest 100-plus run stand.

Suryakumar Kohli smashed 61 off 22 balls as India posted a total of 237-3 in 20 overs. David Miller scored an unbeaten century of 106 off 48 balls and put on a partnership of 174 with Quinton de Kock (69*) and the visitors lost by 16 runs. With the win against the Proteas in the second T20I, India won their first-ever home series against the Proteas in the shortest format.
