IND vs SA: Watch - KL Rahul Drops Sitter Of Aiden Markram To Leave Jasprit Bumrah Shattered

South Africa batter Aiden Markram fought tooth and nail to keep his team in the hunt in the ongoing second Test against India. The game between two teams is locking horns with each other in the series decider at Newlands Park in Cape Town. 

Aiden Markram played a crucial role in South Africa taking a lead of over 60 runs in the second innings. The batter right from the start stepped on the crease on Day 2 looked positive and continued from where he left off last night, playing with an attacking mindset. 

Aiden Markram first made sure that he ended the deficit and once South Africa took the lead, he took attack to the bowlers and smashed them all over the park. However, the lead of over 50 wouldn’t have happened had KL Rahul taken a catch of the batter to put his team at the top. 

During the 3rd ball of the 28th over, Jasprit Bumrah bowled a good length ball outside off to Aiden Markram. The batter tried to slog it but the ball climbed sharply and took the outside edge of the bat. The ball went slightly up to keeper KL Rahul and it seemed that he would take it easily. 

However, KL Rahul made a mess of that. The ball popped out of his hand and even on the second attempt he couldn’t take it. Aiden Markram was batting on 73 at that time and had he taken the catch that time, it could’ve saved at least 20-25 runs for India.

Aiden Markram made most of the dropped catch as he then unleashed himself and slammed bowlers all over the park. In the very next over after the drop, the batter hit 20 runs against Prasidh Krishna and put his team on top of the game. 

Aiden Markram then raced away to his century and made sure that South Africa got a lead of over 60 runs. The batter played magnificent shots in his innings and looked unfazed by the amount of uneven bounce and pace on the pitch. His knock surely would be rated as one of the finest in South Africa’s cricket history. 

IND vs SA: Mohammed Siraj removes Aiden Markram for 106 runs 

After Aiden Markram slammed his ton, it seemed that he would put India under more pressure. But Mohammed Siraj made sure that he brought his team back into the game. The fast bowler bowled a good length delivery around outside off. The batter tried to slog but the ball climbed off the pitch. 

The ball took the thick edge of Aiden Markram’s bat and lobbed up. Skipper Rohit Sharma, who was at long-off, picked an easy catch and was pumped up after that. He banged the ball into the turf as he was frustrated with the way Aiden Markam was batting. 

Aiden Markram scored 106 runs off 103 balls. He slammed 17 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. He put in the hard yards for his team and made sure that his bowlers had something to defend.
