The Indian cricket team is not having a great outing with the bat in the first IND vs SA Test match. After the early departure of Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill was the next victim as he was cleaned up by Marco Jansen for 26 runs. Team India is in deep trouble as they have just added 52 runs on the board and it top three are back in the hut.
Shubman Gill was dismissed for 2 runs in the first innings and played some attacking shots when he came into bat in the second. Gill hit six fours throughout his innings but on the sixth ball of the 14th over, Gill received an inswinger from Marco Jansen who pitched on the full length and went on to hit the stumps.
Shubman Gill was trying to play a shot through the midwicket region but the ball created a gap between the bat and the ball through which the ball went to hit the stumps.

The Indian cricket team wrapped up 245 runs in its first innings courtesy of a 101-run knock from Indian wicket-keeper batsman KL Rahul. Rahul hit a total of 14 fours and four sixes throughout his innings and helped the team reach a fighting total.
Batting in the first innings, South Africa put up a score of 408 runs in their first innings as it was opener Dean Elgar who played a knock of 185 runs. Elgar, who is also playing his last international Test series for South Africa hit a total of 28 fours throughout his innings.
Apart from Dean Elgar, Marco Jansen played a knock 84* runs whereas David Bedingham also scored 56 runs.
The Indian cricket team is 163 runs behind in front of South Africa in the second innings and now will have to display a top-notch batting performance.
However, there was a huge difference between the batting performance of both the teams as at one end, the Indian team displayed a lot of defensive batting approach during their first innings whereas on the other hand, the South African team played a lot of aggressive shots and natural game, which became the reason behind their success.
Also, they didn’t allow the Indian pacers to create pressure on them and it didn’t look like an inexperienced batting side.
India now will have to do something special from here if they wish to get back in the match and create a chance for themselves to win the match. India is 62/3 at Tea on Day 3 and they still are 101 runs behind.
India has been touring South Africa for the past 31 years but has yet to win a Test series on the South African lands. The Indian team has performed well on the last few South African tours but lost the series 2-1 in their previous two outings.
Now, the visitors have the best chance to end their drought as they have one of the best pace attacks in the world who have been the reason behind some of their famous victories overseas.
