It was a low scoring chase and Sri Lanka needed a set batsman till the end to take them home. At one stage, India pulled things tight and it was looking like a huge task for Sri Lanka to recover. But Hasaranga and Chamith Karunaratne hit some lusty blows towards the backend of the innings and it helped Sri Lanka level the series.
“It Is Always Tough Against India” – Dhananjaya De Silva
Dhananjaya De Silva bagged the man of the match award for his brilliant knock and he stated that he was happy to be contributing to Sri Lanka’s win. He reckoned that India is always a tough team to beat and Sri Lanka had to hold on to their nerves which did happen in the end. Sri Lanka haven’t had many victories in recent times, and this will be much needed to boost their confidence.
“We were looking forward to this win. I am happy to contribute to a win for Sri Lanka. I always thought and knew it was about one big over. I decided to bat till the end. We held our nerves today. It is always tough against India,” Dhananjaya De Silva Told In The Post Match Conference.
Series Hanging In Balance
India will miss the services of more than 9 players who have been isolated with Covid-19 protocols for the 3rd T20 international as well. This will mean that Sri Lanka have the best chance of winning the series against the Indian side who will be playing with an inexperienced side.
Sri Lanka haven’t won a bilateral T20 international series against India so far, and they could be in line to break the record in the third T20.
