As Team India prepares for the ICC World Cup 2023 match against Sri Lanka, former England cricketer Nasser Hussain has offered a unique piece of advice to Rohit Sharma. Nasser Hussain suggested that Rohit Sharma should take some time to visit his family in Mumbai.

The Men in Blue will take on Sri Lanka in their upcoming match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, November 2. It’s worth noting that the hosts are the only undefeated team in the marquee tournament, with six consecutive victories in the league stage.

It’ll Help Get Away From The Game – Nasser Hussain

While speaking to the host broadcaster during the mid-innings of the Pakistan-Bangladesh match, Nasser Hussain suggested that Rohit Sharma should capitalize on the home advantage of the World Cup and take a break from a competitive environment to recharge.

“One of the advantages of a home World Cup is to have work, rest, and play. For someone like Rohit Sharma, I’d say get some time away from this team. You’re in Mumbai now, go and see the family.”

“It’ll help get away from the game. It’s a very long tournament. You’re under pressure for a long time. If I were Rahul Dravid, I would be saying to some of my players – Make sure you get some rest in, make sure you get away from the bubble of this World Cup,” Hussain said.

Rohit has displayed exceptional batting prowess, consistently providing explosive starts for his team in the World Cup. He scored 398 runs in six games at an impressive average of 66.33 and a strike rate of 119.16. He has smashed one century and two half-centuries so far.

The Indian captain might be set for another outstanding performance against a team he enjoys facing. He has accumulated 1860 runs in 49 innings against the Sri Lanka team with an impressive average of 46.50, including his remarkable career-best score of 264.

The Indian team currently leads the 10-team points table with 12 points in their tally. The home team needs one more victory to officially advance to the semifinal stages of the prestigious tournament.
