Former Australian cricketer Tom Moody heaped rich praise on Indian captain Rohit Sharma for his captaincy in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023. He said that MS Dhoni taught him many lessons and paved a great path for him to follow.

“The captain before him has taught so many great lessons and paved such a great sort of path for any captain to follow. And that’s MS Dhoni. Just the calmness under pressure and the pressure and also the way he manages bowlers.

Yes, Mohammed Siraj is not in the best of form, but if you look at the last two years in this format, he’s dominated. So he’s got trust in him and he’s got trust that he will recapture that form at some stage during this World Cup. So bring him back into the attack during key times to try to help him find that confidence is what he’s doing.”

Tom Moody further went on to say that Rohit Sharma is making the team for the future. He hailed his leadership and said that confidence coming out of the dressing room is the result of it. He explained:

“So he’s managing things and not only just within the game, he’s managing things into the future of this tournament. So it’s very smart leadership. it’s great man management. I think that is understood and read by the dressing room as well. And you can feel the confidence sort of coming out of the dressing room because of that.”
