Former India National Cricket Team captain Virat Kohli was pumped up after his side got the first breakthrough in the 4th Match of Asia Cup 2023 Super Four stage against Dasun Shanaka-led Sri Lanka National Cricket Team at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Tuesday, September 12.
Jasprit Bumrah got the opening wicket for his side as he cleaned up the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team opening batsman Pathum Nissanka. The opening batsman failed miserably with the bat as he scored just 6 runs off 7 balls, with one four.
Bumrah bowled a brilliant 141kph delivery right in the channel that seamed away and held the line. The Sri Lanka opener only managed to edge the delivery and it went behind the stumps where Rahul dived to complete a brilliant catch. Both Bumrah and Kohli were extremely delighted after the first wicket and they both celebrated it aggressively.

Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bat first in the match. The decision proved to be a great one for the side as Rohit Sharma alongside Shubman Gill provided India with a great start as they added 80 runs together. However, after that India lost wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for 213.
All ten wickets in the innings were picked up by the spin bowlers. Dunith Wellalage took a 5-wicket haul, Charith Asalanka bagged four wickets and Maheesh Theekshana got one wicket.
This was the 10th instance where spinners bagged all 10 wickets in an ODI innings and only the first time against India. Before today, India had lost nine wickets to spin against the same opposition at the same venue back in 1997.
