Before driving straight into the 2-match Test series against Sri Lanka, the India National Cricket Team will play a three-day warm-up game against the Sri Lanka Cricket XI (IND vs SLC XI) in Colombo, beginning on August 7 at the NCC Grounds.
A day after Team India landed on the island nation, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) announced its team for the practice match, with captain Sonal Dinusha. For the match, while the Indian cricket team will be on the ground with their first team players, SLC named a mixed squad with both experienced and emerging talents.

The warm-up match is crucial from both of the teams’ point of view as neither team displayed performance as per their true standards in the format in their previous few matches. The Indian cricket team is in Sri Lanka with the aim of claiming a 2-0 victory over the hosts in the 2-match series.
The series can be challenging for the Men in Blue given the nature of the pitches in Sri Lanka, which mostly support the spinners. The warm-up match will help the team to test their batting skills and techniques against the Sri Lankan spinners.

During the morning hours, the highest temperature can be around 31 degrees to 32 degree celcius with wind gusts around 6 km/h, not very favourable conditions for a cricket match.
Chances of rain will remain on Saturday and Sunday, on Day 2 and Day 3 of the match, as well.
