IND vs WI: Amid Voices Of 'Sack Dravid', Rahul Dravid Plays Down West Indies ODI Loss Nonchalantly

After India lost the 2nd ODI against West Indies in Barbados, India head coach Rahul Dravid said that the team is not worried about others’ opinions as they have a talented group of players. Rahul Dravid also added that the team was a little disappointed with their batting.
India lost the 2nd ODI to West Indies by 6 wickets. Batting first, India could not come up with a powerful total and were bowled out for 181 in 1st innings. Later, West Indies chased down the target after losing just 4 wickets in the match.
Not Worried About Others’ Opinions: Rahul Dravid
While speaking to the press after the match, India head coach Rahul Dravid was questioned about the criticisms that the team is facing after such a huge defeat. To this, Dravid replied that they are not worried about others’ opinions as they have a talented group of players on their team.
“We are not too worried about others’ opinions, these are the talented boys from our country, they all have performed and come here. It is up to them to take the opportunity when they are given the opportunity.
We were little disappointed toward, we knew it was a tricky wicket and not an easy wicket to bat on but we needed to somehow get to 230-240 that could have been a very good score. We lost wickets in the middle and were 50-60 run short,” the former India skipper said.
Suryakumar Yadav Is A Really Good Player: Rahul Dravid
Talking about Suryakumar Yadav, Rahul David said that the team wants to give him enough opportunities in ODIs. He also added that Yadav is a really good player but has not managed to replicate his T20 heroics in ODIs.
“Surya is a really good player, there is no doubt about it, his performance has shown that. Unfortunately, I think he would also be the first one to admit that his ODI have not been up to his own high-standards that he has set in T20s.
He is also learning one-day cricket. He is a good player, and we want to give him as many opportunity as we can and then it is up to him to take those opportunities,” the 50-year-old further said.
Suryakumar Yadav, who has shattered 3 centuries in the shortest format, has failed to come up with a good show in IND vs WI ODI series. He got out for 19 runs in the opening game. In the 2nd ODI, he hit 24 runs.
Meanwhile, West Indies made a wonderful comeback in IND vs WI 2nd ODI, winning the encounter by 6 wickets. Now, the 3rd ODI will be the series-deciding game. The IND vs WI 3rd ODI takes place on August 1 at Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad.
