Team India’s bowling coach Paras Mhambrey expressed his satisfaction with the progress of fast bowler Mukesh Kumar in international cricket. Paras Mhambrey emphasized the importance of players like Mukesh Kumar delivering against tough opponents in challenging conditions.

Mukesh Kumar made his debut in all three formats of the game during the ongoing West Indies tour. Mukesh became the second Indian cricketer after T Natarajan to make debuts in three formats in the same tour. Natarajan accomplished this feat during India’s tour of Australia in 2020-21.

Mukesh Kumar’s Approach Towards The Game Is Fabulous – Paras Mhambrey

Speaking ahead of the fourth T20I against the Windies, Paras Mhambrey praised Mukesh Kumar‘s approach towards the game.

“[I’m] extremely happy with the way he [Mukesh] has progressed. Not many people get the opportunity to feature [make debut] in all three formats. But to get a chance to play in all three formats is fantastic,” Mhambrey told reporters.

“Very happy with the way he has progressed; the thought process, the discussion we had with him and his approach towards the game is fabulous. You need someone like him to come here on a tour and play against tough opponents on a different wicket which is never easy. But the way he has gone about it and the character he has shown [makes us] extremely happy,” he added.

The Bengal pacer may join the Indian team for the upcoming edition of the Asia Cup. The selectors are expected to pick an 18-member squad for the Asia Cup due to injuries to senior players.

Need To Be Smart With His Workload Management – Paras Mhambrey

Mhambrey highlighted the importance of workload management for Mukesh Kumar, considering he is part of the national team in three formats.

“Going forward, since we know he is capable of playing all three formats, we need to be smart with his workload management. He has played a lot of domestic cricket and got quality skills out there,” he further added.

The Hardik Pandya-led team is currently trailing by 1-2 in the ongoing five-match series. The Men in Blue will take on the Rovman Powell-led team in the fourth T20I at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Florida on Saturday, August 12.
