Veteran Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik made a prediction about the future of young batter Shubman Gill, expressing his belief that Gill will become a special player. Dinesh Karthik urged fans to be more patient with Shubman Gill, highlighting the youngster’s rise in white-ball cricket.

Shubman Gill made the decision to bat at the No. 3 position, replacing Cheteshwar Pujara in the lineup. The right-handed batter failed to make an impact with the bat in the ongoing two-match series against the West Indies. The batter could only manage to score 16 runs in the two innings.

Just Be Patient – Dinesh Karthik

“I can promise you, Shubman Gill is going to be something really special in the long run. Just stay with him, just be patient,” Karthik told Cricbuzz.

“Even in T20 cricket, I remember when he came to KKR, he wasn’t exactly doing what he is doing today. He has something really special about him. Just give him time. There is nothing he needs to do in terms of technique or mental preparation,” he added.
