IND vs WI: Irfan Pathan Takes Sly Dig At Hardik Pandya With Cryptic Post

Former India allrounder Irfan Pathan has seemingly taken a dig at Hardik Pandya with a cryptic post on Twitter on Wednesday (August 9).

Hardik Pandya has come in the direct firing line of the fans for denying Tilak Varma the opportunity to score a fine half-century during the third T20I between India and West Indies in Guyana on Tuesday (August 8).  Tilak Varma continued his strong start in international cricket and played another impressive knock for Team India.

The Men in Blue were in big trouble when Tilak Varma came out to bat. Set a target of 160 runs on a tough pitch to bat on, India were reeling at 34 for 2 when the left-handed batsman joined Suryakumar in the middle. He showed remarkable maturity to revive the chase in the company of his senior teammate.

With Suryakumar attacking the West Indies bowlers, the youngster played the role of the second fiddle perfectly. He added 87 runs for the third wicket with Suryakumar Yadav to all but seal the game for Team India. The partnership broke when Suryakumar departed after smashing 83 runs from just 44 balls.

Irfan Pathan posts a cryptic message:

Unlike Suryakumar, Tilak Varma remained till the end to take India home. And he had the chance to finish the game with a personal milestone. The 20-year-old was within touching distance of scoring his second consecutive T20I fifty before his hopes were shattered by a bizarre Hardik Pandya decision.

With Team India needing 2 runs off 14 balls, Hardik Pandya was on the crease. And while everyone was expecting him to give the strike to Varma to complete a well-deserved fifty, the allrounder decided to finish the game by hitting a six. Since then, the fans have been busy trolling and criticizing the Indian skipper.

And it looks like former India allrounder Irfan Pathan has also joined the bandwagon. On Wednesday, he took to Twitter to write a cryptic post as he tweeted: “Mushkil kaam aap karo, Asaan kaam mein Kar leta hoo. Suna suna Sa lagta hai… (roughly translated to: ‘You do the hard work, I will take care of the easier work. Heard it before.’)”
