IND vs WI: 'Rahul Dravid Hasn’t Asked Captain To...'- Dodda Ganesh Takes Brutal Dig At Hardik Pandya

Former Indian cricketer Dodda Ganesh took a dig at Hardik Pandya for batting slow. He also lashed out at the critics of head coach Rahul Dravid after Pandya’s poor show with the bat in the ongoing series decider fifth game against West Indies at Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida. 

Opting to bat first, the Indian team struggled to get going on a pitch that seemed slow. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were put under tremendous pressure. Only Suryakumar Yadav looked settled and smashed a magnificent half-century that took the team to the fighting total. 

Skipper Hardik Pandya among all the batters had the worst strike rate. The all-rounder looked completely clueless on the pitch as he couldn’t really get going and put his team under pressure.

Hardik Pandya batted with a strike rate of just around 78 and scored 14 runs in 18 balls. But thanks to Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma (27), who played vital knocks and took India to a respectable total of 165 runs. 

Hardik Pandya’s poor show didn’t go well with Dodda Ganesh as he took to his X account to slam the Indian captain and hit back at the critics of Rahul Dravid, saying that the coach didn’t ask the skipper to bat with a strike rate of 50. 

“No. The coach hasn’t asked the captain to bat at a SR of 50,” Dodda Ganesh Tweeted.

Notably, Rahul Dravid received a lot of flak for Hardik Pandya’s poor decision in the second T20I for not letting Yuzvendra Chahal complete his quota of overs especially after he took two wickets the last over he bowled.

Dodda Ganesh at that time also lashed out at the critics saying that the head coach has become a soft target and urged people to not admonish him for everything. 

“Stop admonishing Rahul Dravid for every damn thing. He had no role in the captain juggling his bowlers today. Of late, Rahul has become a soft target only because he doesn’t say much in the media.

“I’m sure Rahul Dravid wouldn’t have asked Pandya to under-bowl Chahal or not bowl Axar. But Rahul isn’t a proactive coach it seems. Coach Rahul Dravid being pulled up needlessly for skipper Pandya’s school-boy like errors on the field,” he had said.
