Former West Indies cricketer Curtly Ambrose heaped praises on Virat Kohli ahead of IND vs WI 2nd ODI. The former right-arm pacer said Virat Kohli can score runs quickly without getting aggressive.
Virat Kohli did not arrive to bat in the recent IND vs WI 1st ODI in Barbados. Against a low target, Rohit Sharma allowed youngsters to take the lead. As a result, Virat Kohli did not arrive at his regular one-down position. Before Kohli could arrive on the field, India had already won the game.

Virat Kohli Can Score Runs Quickly Without Getting Aggressive: Curtly Ambrose
While speaking on the ‘Khul Ke’ YouTube channel, West Indies legend Curtly Ambrose hailed Virat Kohli. The cricketer-turned-commentator said that Kohli is pleasant to watch while batting. He also added that the Indian stalwart can score runs quickly without getting aggressive.
“(Kohli is) Very pleasant to watch, easy on the eyes, can score quickly without getting aggressive. He is not like a six-hitter per se. Not that he can’t do it. He can score as quickly as guys you call six-hitters. But wonderful player as well. He is great to watch,” Curtly Ambrose said.
The former Antigua player also praised Rohit Sharma. He said the Indian skipper can be aggressive when he wants to.
“Rohit Sharma, the skipper. Wonderful player…can be aggressive when he wants to”, the 59-year-old said.
Meanwhile, Kohli and Sharma will be part of India’s 2nd ODI against West Indies. India vs West Indies 2nd ODI takes place on July 29 (Saturday) at Kensington Oval Stadium in Barbados.
India leads the three-match series 1-0. In the 1st ODI at the same stadium, India won by 5 wickets. Bowling first in the match, the men-in-blue dismantled the home team for just 114.
Spinner Kuldeep Yadav grabbed 4 wickets while Ravindra Jadeja hunted 3 wickets to crush West Indies’ batting. Skipper Shai Hope hit the most 43 runs for the team.

Later, opener Ishan Kishan scored a wonderful knock of 52 runs for India. However, India lost some key players cheaply in the middle. Shubman Gill (7), Suryakumar Yadav (19), and Hardik Pandya (5) lost their wickets without a good score.
Pace all-rounder Shardul Thakur also arrived at the crease to try his batting. However, he failed after getting out for just 1 run. When India lost 5 wickets on the board, Rohit Sharma arrived on the field to take charge of the chase.
The right-handed batter held his wicket and scored unbeaten 12 runs to grab victory for the team by 5 wickets. Kuldeep Yadav won the Player of the Match award for his 4-wicket haul.
