IND vs WI: Watch - Alzarri Joseph Cleans Up Hardik Pandya With A Cracking Yorker In 2nd T20I

The West Indies National Cricket Team pacer Alzarri Joseph cleaned up the India National Cricket Team captain Hardik Pandya with a brilliant yorker in the second T20I of the five-match series at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Sunday, August 06.

The hosts had won the first game by 4 runs when they successfully defended their score of 149. It was overall a good performance from West Indies bowlers, especially from PoTM Jason Holder and Akeal Hosein. On the batting side of things, skipper Rovman Powell (48) led from the front and he got good support from Nicholas Pooran (41) and Brandon King (28).

The Hardik Pandya-led side are aiming to win the second T20I to draw level the series. India won the toss and opted to bat first in the match. They posted 152/7 on the board, thanks to Tilak Varma’s half-century.

Hardik Pandya also chipped in with crucial 24 runs off 18 balls, before being dismissed by Joseph’s brilliant delivery. On the last ball of the 18th over, the pacer delivered an amazing yorker on the base of the off-stump. Hardik went low, tried to play it towards deep third, and got some bat on it but still he got castled.

I don’t think we did much wrong in the last game – Hardik Pandya

Speaking at the toss, Hardik Pandya said that his side didn’t do many things wrong in the first T20I, which they lost. He added that they are trying to learn from their mistakes and move forward. He elaborated:

“We will bat first, the surface looks good. We will put good score on the board. I don’t think we did much wrong in the last game, we spoke about it and the focus is to learn and keep going ahead. When we have these totals, you gotta keep wickets in hand and that’s what happened in the last game where we lost a couple of wickets during crunch moments. 

“We have a forced change. Kuldeep got a hit on the hand yesterday in the nets, it is not serious and just a precautionary measure. Ravi Bishnoi comes in place of him.”
