IND vs WI: Watch - Mukesh Kumar Gets A Hug From Virat Kohli As He Celebrates Maiden Test Wicket

The 29-year-old India National Cricket Team right-arm pacer Mukesh Kumar dismissed the West Indies National Cricket Team batter Kirk McKenzie to pick up his maiden international wicket on Saturday, July 22.
Mukesh Kumar made his India debut in the second Test of the two-match series against Kraigg Brathwaite-led West Indies National Cricket Team at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad. He received his debut Test cap from the veteran India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin.

Mukesh Kumar replaced Shardul Thakur in the playing XI as the all-rounder was not available for selection for the second Test due to a sore left groin.
Meanwhile, the Bengal pacer looked brilliant on his debut outing and bowled quite accurate lines and lengths. He finally got the reward for bowling well consistently in the 52nd over of the innings.

On the second ball of the 52nd over, Mukesh Kumar bowled a length ball outside off-stump and McKenzie tried to cut it but only managed to get an edge. The ball went straight into the gloves of wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan and Mukesh bagged his maiden Test wicket. The debutant Kirk McKenzie scored 32 runs off 57 balls, including 4 fours and 1 six, before getting dismissed.
Mukesh was pumped up after getting his maiden international wicket and Virat Kohli was the first one to give a hug to the pacer and appreciate his bowling. Soon Ishan Kishan alongside other teammates joined as the pacer celebrated the wicket.

The Bengal pacer Mukesh got his India call-up after his sensational performances in Fist-class cricket. In 39 First-class games, the pacer bagged 149 wickets at an average of 21.55, an economy of 2.70, and a strike rate of 47.7. He also bagged 8 four-wicket hauls and 6 five-wicket hauls in First-class cricket.
