India National Cricket Team stalwart Virat Kohli recreated Shubman Gill’s trademark celebration after completing a marvelous ton in the second Test of the two-match series against the Kraigg Brathwaite-led West Indies National Cricket Team on Friday, July 21 at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad.
Playing in his 500th international game for the India National Cricket Team, Virat Kohli batted exceptionally well and made it a memorable one by hitting his 76th international century and his 29th Test ton.
On Day 1, Kohli looked in good control and played some beautiful cover drives. He looked set to complete his ton as he finished unbeaten at 87 after the first day’s play. On Day 2, Virat Kohli once again looked settled in the middle and completed his ton off 180 balls, with 10 fours.
Kohli looked delighted as he completed his century and with a big smile on his face he hugged his batting partner Ravindra Jadeja. Virat Kohli then raised his bat to a standing ovation from the crowd and dressing room and brought out a Shubman Gill-like celebration. He also kissed the wedding ring on his neck chain to celebrate the milestone.

Virat Kohli’s incredible knock had a sad ending as he got run out after Alzarri Joseph produced a brilliant direct hit. He scored 121 runs off 206 balls, with 11 fours in the innings.
Meanwhile, Kohli became the first-ever player to smash a century in his 500th international match. Also, he ended a 5-year wait for an overseas Test century.
Notably, Kohli is just the 10th cricketer in the history of the game to play 500 international games. Also, he is just the fourth Indian player after Sachin Tendulkar (664), MS Dhoni (538), and Rahul Dravid (509) to achieve the milestone.
