India National Cricket Team and Pakistan National Cricket Team players were spotted training at the ICC Academy in Dubai around the same time ahead of the Asia Cup 2025 clash.
Asia Cup 2025 will be played in the T20 format from September 9 to 28 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with a total of eight teams participating.
India vs Pakistan to be played on September 14
The Asia Cup 2025 was in doubt after the tensions between India and Pakistan hit their peak in April-May 2025, following a deadly terrorist attack on Indian tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir, on April 22, 2025.
In retaliation, Operation Sindoor, a major military operation, was launched by India on May 7, 2025, and the two countries were engaged in a war-like situation.
After four days of conflict, on May 10, 2025, a ceasefire was agreed upon, but due to the cross-border tensions, the Asia Cup 2025 came into doubt.
However, ACC, after a meeting in Dhaka, announced the schedule for the competition with India and Pakistan in Group A alongside the UAE and Oman. The high-voltage match between India and Pakistan is scheduled to be held on Sunday, September 14, at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

I really will be surprised if India don’t win their matches comfortably - Sunil Gavaskar
Recently, the legendary batter Sunil Gavaskar stated that India would be the favorites to win the Asia Cup 2025, and he would be surprised if the Suryakumar Yadav-led side don't win the matches comfortably.
“I really will be surprised if India don’t win their matches comfortably. All their matches, not just against Pakistan, but even against Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka,” said Gavaskar as quoted by Hindustan Times.
“If they don’t win comfortably, it will be a bit of a surprise. Because the Indian team really has, over the last couple of years, been a really superb team, in great touch and great form.”
Sunil Gavaskar also opined that the Asia Cup has lost its spark because of formats being switched between 20-over and 50-over cricket.
“It was primarily a 50-over tournament. And over the last maybe decade or so, it has moved from being a T20 tournament and a 50 over tournament, depending on what is the big ICC tournament which is likely to happen after the Asia Cup. When that kind of a thing happens, when you move the format up and down, the tournament does lose a little bit of its spark,” he said.
