Ravichandran Ashwin’s T20 stint with the Indian side is still hazy, despite the fact that he may have found meaning in pushing experimental limits and venturing into uncharted waters. The seasoned off-spinner, who was out for four years from India’s T20 squad, was a member of the team for the 2021 World T20. Given his impact during his first IPL season with Rajasthan Royals, Ashwin won’t currently be classified as a Test player.

Ashwin and unconventional thinking go hand in hand, from mankading and delivering carrom balls over traditional off-spin to retiring out with 10 balls remaining, Ashwin has done it all. But it’s still unclear whether he’ll participate in the forthcoming T20 WC.

India will undoubtedly have a revised spin attack in Australia with Yuzvendra Chahal in outstanding form. Chahal finished the South Africa Twenty20s with six wickets in four games, fresh off an outstanding IPL season with Rajasthan Royals. Rahul Chahar and Varun Chakravarthy, who were part of the World T20 in 2021, don’t appear to be involved at all in the scheme of things currently.

India Have Quality In The Seam Department: Sanjay Manjrekar

Sanjay Manjrekar, a former Indian cricketer who is now a broadcaster, has named Chahal as a lock for the upcoming T20 championship. Additionally, he feels Axar Patel and young Ravi Bishnoi would be part of the squad for the competition.

“India have quality in the seam department but other international teams like Pakistan and South Africa have it as well. No matter how much quality India have in their seam, they start winning when spinners make a contribution.

Yes, India have gone away from Chahar, Ashwin, and Chakaravarthy. They are currently looking at Chahal, Bishnoi and Axar. Jadeja might come in too.

But I would also like to see Kuldeep once he is fit. If India have to win and get into the final round of the tournament, they need two game-changing spinners,” Manjrekar told Hindustan Times in a virtual interaction organised by Sony Sports.

All these three spinners will be in action against Ireland for a 2-match T20 international series.
