India vs Pakistan and Other Key Matches in World Cup 2027
The India-Pakistan match is scheduled for October 10 at Johannesburg's Wanderers Stadium. It comes just three days after India's opening match against Australia, giving the campaign a demanding start.
The Australia match itself is a repeat of the 2023 World Cup final, when the two sides met in Ahmedabad. India will then face Afghanistan in Tshwane before playing Qualifier A in Bloemfontein.
Zimbabwe provide India's final Group Stage opponent, with the fixture taking the tournament to Victoria Falls. India will also have a potential reunion with Australia later in the tournament because the two sides occupy the A1 and A2 seeded positions for the Super 7.
India’s World Cup 2027 Route From Group Stage to Final
India have been pre-seeded as A1 for the Super 7 stage. If India qualify, their current seeded schedule has them playing Australia on October 28 in Victoria Falls, South Africa on October 31 in Johannesburg, New Zealand on November 4 in Paarl, Pakistan on November 7 in Cape Town, England on November 11 in Gqeberha and Sri Lanka on November 14 in Durban.
These fixtures are based on the ICC's current seeding. A non-seeded team can inherit a seeded position if it qualifies while the corresponding pre-seeded team does not.
