India National Cricket Team achieved a huge feat in the history of the T20I cricket. They became the first team ever to win 150 games in the shortest format of the game, achieving the feat under the leadership of Shubman Gill.
The Men in Blue scripted history after they defeated the Zimbabwe National Cricket Team in the third match of the ongoing five-match T20I series. The match between the two teams took place at the Harare Sports Club in Harare on Wednesday (10th July).
India displayed a dominating performance in the third T20I against Zimbabwe. The Men in Blue batted first and it was a decent batting effort from their end. Opening the batting, Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal were right on the money with the bat.
They started aggressively with the bat as they added 67 runs for the opening partnership. While Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 36 runs, skipper Gill added 66 runs as they ensured they set the platform for the team for a big finish.
Abhishek Sharma, who was demoted down the order, couldn’t make a bigger impact but Ruturaj Gaikwad at No.4 made sure he carries his good form. The batter played a vital innings and scored a brutal 49 runs that took the team to a big total of 182 runs on the board.
With the ball, it didn’t seem that Zimbabwe were in the game at the start. Indian bowlers were all over the batters as they picked five quick wickets and left the opposition reeling at 39/5 in the chase and were on top.
Dion Myers (65*) and Clive Madande (37) added 77 runs to give India a scare. But Indian bowlers pulled back things well. Washington Sundar was the pick of the bowlers with his figures of 3/15 while Avesh Khan and Khaleel Ahmed combined to pick three wickets. They restricted the opposition to 159 for six and won the game by 23 runs.

Feels amazing and every time I play for the country, it feels amazing - Washington Sundar
Washington Sundar, who won the Player of the Match, talked about his spell with the ball and stated that it was an amazing outing for him. He also admitted that India came under pressure during the partnership between Myers and Madande. Speaking to broadcasters, he explained:
“Feels amazing and every time I play for the country, it feels amazing. It was definitely a better wicket, in the first two games there was more for the bowlers compared to this game, our batters batted well.
(On the partnership between Myers & Madande) It did put a lot of pressure on us and we wanted to execute our plans the best we can to restrict them. Hopefully, we get to see a lot of places in Zimbabwe and explore more, hopefully we can seal the series on Saturday.”
