South Africa spinner Tabraiz Shamsi believes that India can win the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 as they have beaten Australia in Australia previously as well. However, Shamsi also added that Australia can beat any team in the world.

India have emerged victorious on the last two occasions they have traveled to Australia for a Test series. They first won the trophy during the 2018-19 series under the leadership of Virat Kohli.

During the 2020-21 series, India came again to the Australian shores for a four-match Test series. The series was tough as there were lots of injury issues in the Indian camp. But the players were determined to clinch the trophy this time as well. It was a historic occasion as India won a Test series in Australia for the second consecutive time.

Tabraiz Shamsi predicts the winner of BGT 2024-25

Tabraiz Shamsi was asked on social media if India can win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 in Australia or not. He replied by saying that India have already won in Australia and have shown their ability previously as well.

However, Tabraiz Shamsi further mentioned that Australia can also win the series since they possess the ability to beat any team in the world. The left-arm wrist-spinner also called the series between India and Australia an entertaining one.

"Why not... India have shown they can win in Australia. But Australia have also shown they can beat any team in the world. Both are gun teams and the series between them are always entertaining," Tabraiz Shamsi posted on X (formerly Twitter).

While every other team has struggled to win the Test series in Australia, India have been tremendous on their last two Test tours of the country. The Men in Blue won both the series with an identical margin of 2-1.

India's bowling attack is their strength

One of the main reasons for India's victory on both occasions was the brilliant bowling attack. Over the years, India have developed a strong bowling line-up which has served them well. It is not a one-dimensional bowling attack as it has world-class fast bowlers and spinners. The Men in Blue will hope their bowlers remain fit for the upcoming series as well.

The upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy will begin in the month of November with the first match to be played in Perth. Also, the second Test of the series will be a day-night Test that will be played in Adelaide. The Gabba in Brisbane will be the host of the third Test.

Meanwhile, the iconic MCG in Melbourne will host the fourth Test, which will also be the Boxing Day Test. The final Test of the series, which is also the New Year Test, will be held in SCG, Sydney.
