Asia Cup 2025: India and Pakistan to reunite in Dubai after handshake controversy causes ruckus
(PC: X)

The India vs Pakistan clash in the Asia Cup 2025 has ended in an outrageous controversy; however, the two teams are expected to have a face-off again at the ICC Academy in Dubai when they two teams advance for their training sessions.

The India vs Pakistan saga has continued from the battlefield to the field of cricket. The years-old rivalry in the gentleman's game has taken the shape of an ugly feud following India and Pakistan's actions in the Asia Cup contest.

This is an aftermath of the heinous crime committed in the Pahalgam valley by the supposed Pakistani terror groups, which led to India's counterattack in the form of Operation Sindorr. The countries strained their political relations further as they exceeded diplomacy and entered a state of war.

India one-sidedly dominated Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 clash

After much dilemma for both teams, Pakistan and India both agreed to feature in the continental championship, the Asia Cup. A fixture was also scheduled between the two rivals on Sunday, the 14th of September.

India and Pakistan played against each other for the first time since the Pahalgam attacks, and the tension between the two nations was evident from the actions of the players. India, however, dominated as a team.

Putting the bowl first, Indian new-ball bowlers were thrilled with their performance and brought early breakthroughs with the ball. The Indian spinners were even better as they broke the back of the Pakistan middle order.

Lastly, the Indian batters were the cherry on the top, as they chased down the modest T20I total in no time and led India comfortably to a 7-wicket victory.

India to reunite with Pakistan at the ICC Academy in Dubai

After so much tension and all the controversy that has been spread following the Sunday clash between the two Asian rivals, India and Pakistan players will come face-to-face for the first time at the ICC Academy in Dubai.

According to the Times of India, Pakistan and India are both scheduled to train at the ICC Academy on Tuesday. Though the slots are different, the two teams will be at the same venue since their timings overlap with one another.

India will be practising for their next contest, which is against Oman in Abu Dhabi, while Pakistan will go on to play a decisive final group-stage game against the UAE. India is already through to the Super-4, while Pakistan will have to knock down the UAE to pave their way into the next stage of the Asia Cup 2025.

PCB demands sanctions against match officials; India stand unbothered by Pakistan's claims

The PCB after the match had demanded that sanctions be imposed on the Match referee for the India vs Pakistan game. They had accused Andy Pycroft of biasing with the Pakistan team and keeping them uninformed of the fact that the Indians would walk straight into their dressing room, ignoring the ritualistic handshake at the end of the game.

However, the ICC has clearly stated that no such replacements would be made nor any actions would be taken against the referee, since he barely had any role to play in the handshake fiasco. Pakistan, which had earlier threatened to boycott the next match in the Asia Cup 2025, are yet to convey their stand after the ICC made its decision.
