The atmosphere in the Indian National Cricket Team camp looked cheerful ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026 final against New Zealand on Sunday (March 8) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India crushed England by seven runs in the T20 World Cup 2026 semifinal all at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai to qualify for the title clash.
The semifinal match was so tense as the finalist was decided in the last over at Wankhede Stadium, but the mood after the game was completely different in the Indian camp.
Abhishek Sharma teases Arshdeep Singh in India team bus
As the men in blue traveled back in the team bus, a funny moment between players quickly caught the attention of everyone. In the viral video, Indian opener Abhishek Sharma was seen teasing fast bowler Arshdeep Singh, and the light-hearted exchange left everyone around them laughing.

The joke came after Arshdeep struggled with his line during the semifinal and bowled several wides against England. Even though he leaked runs, the left-arm pacer still delivered an important breakthrough by dismissing England batter Will Jacks during the crunch moment.
Inside the team bus, Abhishek playfully said Arshdeep might need two wicketkeepers because of the wide deliveries — one standing behind the stumps and another closer to the wide line. The comment created a burst of laughter among the players.
Sanju Samson dragged into the fun as Arshdeep responds
Abhishek said, “2 keepers chahiye Arshdeep ko. Ek idhar chahiye (straight), aur ek wide ke pass chahiye. (Arshdeep needs two keepers. He needs one straight and one near the wide line.)”
However, Arshdeep did not stay quiet either. The fast bowler joined the fun and pointed the camera toward wicketkeeper Sanju Samson while continuing the friendly banter.
The bowler replied to his teammate by asking, "Sanju bhai, 2 keepers laga le? Apne pass to 2 hain bhi. Sanju, brother, should we go with two keepers? We even have two.)”

Meanwhile, Arshdeep has been under the scanner due to his wides in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026. Before England, he also bowled several wides in the Super 8 game against the West Indies. Before this tournament, Arshdeep had even delivered an unusual over full of wides against South Africa.

Glenn McGrath blames poor preparation for Arshdeep Singh’s struggles
Reacting to Arshdeep’s struggles, the legendary Australian bowler Glenn McGrath has blamed the lack of preparation behind the Indian pacer’s wides. McGrath has stressed that a bowler can deliver a wide yorker more easily when it stays as a backup plan in his mind. If the bowler keeps it as a surprise option, the batter does not get any hint that the ball is going to be bowled wide.
McGrath is quoted as saying by The Indian Express, “It comes back to why we bowl length balls really well. Because in the nets, that’s the majority of what we bowl. So, we need to practice bowling for those in the nets as well. And it comes down to confidence. If you’re confident with bowling wide yorkers, then you’re going to bowl and hit it more often. In T20 and one-day, especially at the death in pressure situations, you need a backup ball in your mind.”
