The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the coaching staff for the upcoming A tour to England. Hrishikesh Kanitkar has been named the head coach of the team, which will be captained by Abhimanyu Easwaran.

The A team will also be accompanied by Subhodeep Ghosh of Assam (fielding coach) and Troy Cooley (bowling coach), the former India and Maharashtra batsman. The domestic performers have been named in the squad, and it will be a great opportunity for them to seal their place in the main team.

The A team will be playing three games on their tour to England. The first two games will be against the England Lions, while the third game will be played against the main Indian team, which will act as a preparation for the five-match Test series against the Ben Stokes-led side, starting on 20th June at Headingley in Leeds.

The first match against the England Lions will be played at Canterbury on May 30. The next match is set to begin on June 6 in Northampton. The game against the main Indian team will be played in Beckenham from June 13 to 16 behind closed doors.

BCCI has named an 18-member squad for the A tour

The BCCI has named an 18-member squad for the tour. The likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Karun Nair, Dhruv Jurel, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Shardul Thakur, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sarfaraz Khan, and Ishan Kishan have been included in the team.

While Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan will be joining the team from the second match. The A team will be leaving in two batches for England on May 25 and 26.

BCCI to name squad for England series in the last week of May

The reports in Cricbuzz provided an update about the squad announcement of the main Indian team. It is learned that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will be naming the team in the last week of May. The squad was to be selected on May 23, but it has been postponed.

This is because in the view of the postponement and subsequent resumption of the IPL. The reports also claimed that the squad for the five-match Test series will be leaving on June 6th, around two weeks ahead of the first Test of the series.

The reports also added that Gautam Gambhir, who was scheduled to leave early for England, will now be travelling with the main team as per the schedule. The Test series will also mark the start of a new edition of the ICC World Test Championship.

Following the first game, the next four matches will be played in Birmingham (from July 2), Lord's (from July 10), Manchester (from July 23), and finally at the Oval (from July 31).
