The series has gone down very competitive between the top two teams and an exciting decider is on the cards in the third game of the England-India ODI series. India won the first ODI convincingly but England staged the best possible comeback by winning the second ODI and both the teams look like not giving up without putting up a fight.
India has a lot of work to do in their bowling department which has been good at times but looked pretty ordinary on most occasions. Credit has to be given to the England batsman who has not been afraid to attack from the outset while the England spinners have been far more impressive than the Indian spinners.
Here are three players who deserve to win the Man of the Series after the completion of the second ODI.
3 Players Who Deserve To Win The Man Of The Series:
Jonny Bairstow:
Bairstow continued his good form into the second ODI with an excellent century and perished for 124 in just 112 deliveries. England built on the platform set by Bairstow and cruised to victory with more than 6 overs left in the bank. Bairstow’s knocks in the first and second ODI have been scintillating and he deserves to win the man of the series award.
KL Rahul:
In the second ODI, he continued his form coming in earlier at four and he stabilized the Indian innings alongside Virat Kohli. He finished with 108 runs in 114 deliveries and hit two sixes and seven fours in the innings. However, he did not end up on the winning side but his two valiant knocks certainly deserve the man of the series award.
Virat Kohli:
Virat Kohli has scored 56 in 60 balls in the first ODI and then continued with 66 of just 79 balls in the second ODI. His two half-centuries have resulted in India building up partnerships to accelerate the total in the end overs. His consistency has to be credited and he will surely be one of the contenders for the man of the series award.
