India and England Post Same First-Innings Total of 387 at Lord’s
Both teams posted the same first-innings total of 387. Resuming on 145/3, the visiting overnight batters KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant added over 100 runs. However, Pant was run out for 74 after a direct hit from Ben Stokes while attempting a risky single.
Rahul brought up his century after lunch but perished for exactly 100, edging one to slip off Shoaib Bashir. Ravindra Jadeja continued his fine form with 72 runs, while Nitish Kumar Reddy (30) and Washington Sundar (23) added useful contributions down the order.
Among England’s bowlers, Chris Woakes impressed with figures of 3/84, while Jofra Archer and Stokes took two wickets each.
Shubman Gill Angry Amid Zak Crawley’s Delay Tactics in Last Over Drama
England, led by Ben Stokes, looked to stretch out play and avoid facing more than one over before stumps on the third day. The hosts began their second innings slightly behind schedule.
Jasprit Bumrah bowled the only over of England's second innings, but it was packed with drama. Zak Crawley frustrated the Indian fielders by pulling out late twice and calling for the physio after being struck, seemingly trying to slow the game.
The visitors reacted with sarcastic claps, and captain Shubman Gill confronted Crawley, leading to an on-field exchange. Ben Duckett intervened to ease tensions. The England team ended the day at 2/0, with the match perfectly balanced heading into Day 4.
