India refused to receive the trophy from Mohsin Naqvi in 2025
Last year, after winning the Asia Cup, the Men's India national cricket team refused to accept the trophy from the ACC head Naqvi. It was a stance of the Indian cricket team because of political tension with Pakistan.
As the Indian cricket team did not accept the trophy from Naqvi's hands, he left the venue along with the trophy. Team India has yet to get the trophy. That night, the Men in Blue celebrated their moment without the title in their hands.
The Indian cricket teams, both men's and women's, are keeping their distance from the Pakistan cricket teams. Thus, ahead of the Women's Asia Cup final tonight, speculations were running among cricket fans about whether India's women's cricket team would accept the trophy from the ACC chief, who is also the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
What will happen if Mohsin Naqvi make hismself availabe for the event?
Now, according to recent developments and reports, Naqvi could skip tonight's trophy-giving ceremony. If he remains unavailable for the event, then the tournament could end without producing any further controversy.
The above-mentioned 'X' post talks about a possibility, and as per the current status, nothing is confirmed on whether Naqvi will be there on the ground to hand over the trophy or not.
India is again the favourite to win the trophy. As there is a dilemma about Naqvi, it will be interesting to see what will happen if India wins and Naqvi is there for the trophy distribution ceremony. As of now, there is no official statement from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
