India vs Pakistan Pitch to Be Reused for 2025 Champions Trophy Final
India and New Zealand emerged as the top two teams from Group A in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Rohit Sharma-led India defeated New Zealand in their last group-stage match at the same venue.
India secured their spot in the final by defeating Australia in the first semi-final. New Zealand then outplayed South Africa in Lahore, setting a record total in the process to seal their place in the title clash.
According to a Cricbuzz report, the pitch for the Champions Trophy final will be the same surface that hosted the India-Pakistan clash on February 23.
India bowled 26 overs of spin, with Axar Patel (1/49 in 10 overs), Kuldeep Yadav (3/40 in 9 overs), and Ravindra Jadeja (1/40 in 7 overs) playing key roles. Pakistan were bowled out for 241 in 49.4 overs, with Saud Shakeel scoring 62 off 76 balls.
In response, Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 100 off 111 balls to guide India to a six-wicket win with 45 balls to spare. With the final expected to be played on a similar slow track, spinners are likely to play a crucial role again.
