Wankhede Stadium To Host India Women vs Australia Women Test
According to a report by Code Sports, India Women will face Australia in a Test match during Australia Women’s tour of India in December. During the series, a Test match will also take place at Wankhede. Notably, a women’s Test match will take place on Indian soil after 1984.
Other than the Test, three ODIs and three T20Is will also take place between India Women and Australia Women. The entire tour will take place in Mumbai. Wankhede Stadium will also host the three-match ODI series. The three-match T20I series is expected to take place at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.
Recently, Australia all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner had said that his team would arrive in India pretty early to get acquainted with the wicket.
“We know when we’ve played shorter format it’s generally pretty flat. So yeah, the Test match poses a different type of thing as well. But I think naturally, we’re going to prepare the way that we normally would. We’re going over there pretty early. So it gives us a great opportunity to actually get used to the conditions and get used to being back in India again,” she said.
Australia Women are currently facing West Indies Women in a home series. Australia Women have won the T20I series 3-0. In the ODI series, they lead the series 1-0 after one game.
