India Women will lock horns with United Arab Emirates Women in the 8th match of the Women’s Asia Cup 2022.

India-W got off to a brilliant start in the tournament defeating Sri Lanka-W in their opening match by 41-runs and went on to beat Malaysia-W in their second game by 30 runs, in a rain-affected match.

India-W is placed second on the points table behind leaders Pakistan-W while UAE-W who are yet to get off their mark is placed in the fifth position.

Jemimah Rodrigues is the tournament’s leading run-scorer with 76 runs followed by Sabbhineni Meghana who has scored 69 runs. Shafali Verma, Richa Ghosh and Harmanpreet Kaur have also been among the runs.

Deepti Sharma and Dayalan Hemalatha have been the pick of the bowlers for team India, having scalped 3 wickets each so far in the tournament.

This will be India Women’s third game and they will enter the game as favourites.

On the other hand, UAE-W will play their second game after their defeat in their first match against Sri Lanka-W.

UAE-W gave a tough fight to Sri Lanka-W, their bowling was very impressive but they lacked in the batting department.

Mahika Guar Dharnidharka was the pick of the bowlers for the UAE-W. Chasing a lowish total of 110, UAE-W did not get off to a good start.

The match was stopped due to bad weather, there was a lightning strike and the umpires decided that it was unsafe for players and took them off the ground.

The game resumed after an hour, Sri Lankan women fought back well and won the match with a narrow margin of 11 runs on the Duckworth-Lewis method.
