Star Indian all-rounder, Hardik Pandya’s two watches worth 5 crores have been confiscated at the airport by the customs department. The real reason behind this was, Hardik didn’t have the invoices for the two expensive watches.

This incident happened when Indian players were returning home after a disappointing outcome in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 and Hardik Pandya was stopped by the customs department and two watches worth Rs 5 crore were detained.

Notably, Virat Kohli-led India National Cricket Team entered the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 as favourites to win the championship but they performed terribly in the first two games. India lost the tournament opener against Pakistan by 10 wickets. This was India’s first defeat against Pakistan in the World Cups.

Hardik who was a complete flop in the World Cup as he managed to score only 69 runs has not been picked for the T20I series against New Zealand which will begin on November 17 at Jaipur. Big players like Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja have been rested for the series.

Meanwhile, if reports are to be believed Hardik has been dropped from the squad as he is not fully fit to compete and India is planning to groom Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer as Hardik’s replacement in the playing XI.

Hardik Pandya has not yet recovered from his lower back injury. However, if the former T20 captain (Kohli in this case) was bent on having him at No 6 as a specialist batter, Chetan (chief national selector Chetan Sharma) and his team had to relent,” a senior BCCI official, privy to selection developments, told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
