Virat Kohli-led team India was heading into the 4th Test after a massive defeat in the 3rd test match against England. However team India fought like the champions and they managed to beat England at Kennington Oval, London to earn the unassailable 2-1 lead against Joe Root-led side in the 5-match Test series.

After India’s huge victory of 157 runs against England, the Indian cricketing fraternity came up with congratulatory tweets and praises for India’s remarkable performance. Also, this was India’s first win in the Oval in 50 years which made it even special.

Meanwhile, Sourav Ganguly who is the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president came up with a tweet after India’s historic victory. He called Indian cricket ‘far ahead of the rest. Ganguly wrote:

However, Former England captain Michael Vaughan didn’t entirely agree with the words of the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). As he feels that although team India is ahead in the purest form of the game they are not at the top in white-ball cricket.

Responding to the tweet of Sourav Ganguly, Michael Vaughan wrote: “In Test cricket .. not White ball cricket”.

Meanwhile, Each and every player from the Indian line-up gave a contribution which led to India winning the historic Test match. India found several positives in this match the only negative was the poor form of Vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane. Meanwhile, the biggest positive many believe was the all-round performance of Shardul Thakur.

Rohit Sharma scored a century for India for which he was awarded man of the match. Virat Kohli, Shardul Thakur, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Rishabh Pant scored a half-century. Also, the bowling unit of India which consisted of Umesh Yadav, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja did an amazing job.
