The Indian has to stay in managed isolation before the ICC World Test Championship final against New Zealand in Southampton. The two sides will lock horns beginning on the 18th of June to claim the ultimate prize in Test cricket. Virat Kohli’s men have to undergo a COVID-19 test before entering a duration of managed quarantine.
Virat Kohli and co. will land in the United Kingdom on the 3rd of June for a three-month-long tour. They begin their visit with the ICC World Test Championship final against New Zealand at the Rose Bowl, followed by a five-match Test series against England. They will enter Englan after completing 14 days in the bio-bubble in Mumbai and returning six negative RT-PCR tests.
On the other hand, the Kiwis are already in England, where they will clash in two Tests against Joe Root’s men. Lord’s and Edgbaston will stage the two matches from the 2nd of June before participating in the decider against India. Thus, New Zealand will have a slight upper hand, given they have more time to get acclimatized to the conditions.
Upon landing, the Indian team will proceed directly to the on-site hotel: ICC
An ICC release announced that the United Kingdom government has granted an exemption to the event, outlined in the health protection. After landing, the Indian outfit will proceed to the on-site hotel at the Hampshire Bowl to undergo a COVID-19 test before entering a period of managed isolation.
“The event has now been granted an exemption by the United Kingdom government as outlined in the Health Protection. Upon landing, they will proceed directly to the on-site hotel at the Hampshire Bowl where they will be tested again before commencing a period of managed isolation,” the ICC release said.
