Riding on brilliant knocks from Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin, India, on Thursday (September 19), recovered after a disastrous start with the bat in the ongoing first Test against Bangladesh.

Asked to bat first, the hosts were off to a disastrous start. They lost as many as three wickets inside the first session with Hasan Mahmud claiming all the wickets. He dismissed Rohit Sharma (6), Shubman Gill (0) and Virat Kohli (6) to reduce India to 34 for 3.

It was followed by a 62-run stand between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant. Mahmud broke the stand after the lunch break by dismissing Pant for 39. Jaiswal and KL Rahul then shared a 48-run stand before departing in successive overs to leave India six down for 144.

From thereon, it has been one-way traffic as Ashwin and Jadeja have put India back in a commanding position. At the time of writing this report, the hosts were on 327 for 6. Ashwin was batting on 97 while Jadeja was unbeaten on 79.

While India are yet to bowl in the first IND vs BAN Test, their fast bowlers Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj have become the talk of the town. Both Akash Deep and Siraj started trending on X (formerly Twitter) as Jadeja and Ashwin were busy batting in the middle.

Their names started trending after the cameras caught them in an unexpected pose while they were talking to each other in the dressing room. Akash Deep had his head resting on Siraj's shoulder as he was busy saying something in his teammate's ear.

At the same time, Akash Deep also had his hand on one side of Siraj's face as he pulled him towards himself to say something. As soon as the cameras showed the pacers on the screen, the fans were amused by the pose and came up with different kinds of reactions.
