South Africa will host India for three Tests, three ODIs, and four T20Is between December 17 and January 26, the dates of which have been confirmed by Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Thursday. South Africa will also host Netherlands and Bangladesh before and after the India series respectively.

The home international season for the Proteas begins with three ODIs against the Netherlands on November 26, 28, and December 1; all three games to be played in Centurion.

The three-Test series against India, which is a part of the World Test Championship 2021-21 cycle, gets underway on December 17 in Johannesburg, followed by Test in Centurion, and then back to Johannesburg for the third Test. Paarl and Cape Town will host the seven white-ball matches, with the tour concluding on January 26.

After the India series, South Africa are scheduled to visit New Zealand for two Tests and three T20Is, before hosting Bangladesh for three ODIs and two Tests from March 18 to April 9, the venues of the same haven’t been announced yet.

The ODI series against the Netherlands and Bangladesh are part of the Cricket World Cup Super League while the Test Series against India and Bangladesh are part of the World Test Championship.
“It is probably the most congested home summer we have ever had,” CSA director of cricket Graeme Smith said.
“As was the case last season we have had to centralise our international fixtures to comply with Covid protocols.
“India A will also be touring for three four-day matches against South Africa A which will provide tough competition for our domestic cricketers as they bridge the gap between domestic and international cricket.”
In January-February 2022, South Africa Women play host to West Indies Women for three ODIs and five T20Is, ahead of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in March, helping both sides in preparation for the mega-event.
“Our women will also see plenty of action with the visit by the West Indies in the New Year for a series of both white ball formats. As was the case last season we have had to centralize our international fixtures to comply with Covid protocols,” Smith added.

Cricket South Africa announce domestic season:

Cricket South Africa are set to introduce a revamped domestic structure that includes 15 provincial teams playing in two tiers, following the earlier dissolution of the franchise system. The season will begin with a T20 knockout tournament, starting September 24 to October 22.
The Mzansi Super League that was played in 2018 and 2019 but was called off last year has been converted into a domestic T20 competition that will be played among eight teams. The tournament will be played in February. Both tiers will be played out in the first-class and one-day format.
